Here are a collection of various boomerang videos. You will need flash to see them. Some good stuff here
Eagle/ Foot catch one of the more tricky ones to do.
Rhys age 12. One hand behind back. Making it look easy
Carbon Fibre MTA. 30 Secs
A very quick fast catch (15 secsonds) For the Boomerang sport enthusiast this link will show you Gregory Bisoux setting the world record for fast catch at approx 15 seconds. Watch and weep (as most mere mortals will never break the 20 second barrier, and note that the record was later broken to be approximately 14.2 seconds – phew !).
To appreciate how fast this is consider that the boomerang has to travel approx 60 metres for each throw, and each throw takes about 1.75 seconds, (after allowing time for catch, turn and throw), this means the boomerang is travelling at an average speed of approx 78 miles per hour. These fast catch boomerangs start off fast, and decelerate to allow a catch so the launch speed is thought to be well in excess of 100 miles per hour.
Manu in practice. I timed this at 14.2 secs. Absolute calm conditions
Funny Anglia TV clip with Adam McLaughlin and presenter Bhervani
BBC News clip shown just prior to the European championships 2007. Mike Bushall and Adam McLaughlin
Some of you may recognise Stefan Sprigi, in this You tube clip. No boomerangs, but just as amazing.
A dusk, beautiful evening. Just a hint of wind, and a Manicosaur fast catch. Perfect :)
Ollie Snook. 34 odd seconds. Beautiful conditions
Here I launch an MTA, and manage 7 catches from my fast catch, before catching the MTA first thown. Sorry its a bit dark - dodgy mobile phone footage.
This was turning into a mad, bad MTA session. Conditions were spot on. 11 am July 27th. Hardly any wind. Here me and Ollie catch a thermal - both over a minute. The next throw after this I got a 2 minute 20 sec, with catch about 40 metres from launch. Crazy.
